National Sexuality Education Standards

The National Sexuality Education Standards are NOT a part of Common Core.  However, if you take the view that Common Core is a framework to introduce a series of nationalized standards,  then these national sexuality standards should be considered when examining the fundamental transformation of what our children learn at school.

The National Sexuality Education Standards are “A Special Publication of the Journal of School Health,” If you go to page 6 it says, “The National Sexuality Education Standards were further informed by the work of the CDC’s Health Education Curriculum Analysis Tool (HECAT)3; existing state and international education standards that include sexual health content; the Guidelines for Comprehensive Sexuality Education: Kindergarten – 12th Grade; and the Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts and Mathematics, recently adopted by most states.”  Is this curriculum intended to be incorporated into the English language arts reading assignments?  Unclear…

On page 6, “Specifically, the National Sexuality Education Standards were developed to address the inconsistent implementation of sexuality education nationwide and the limited time allocated to teaching the topic.” The whole idea behind Common Core is to create universal standards.

The Chicago Public schools have already adopted these standards:  See CPS document HERE.

In Illinois, if you do not want your child to participate in the Sexuality education, you may opt your child out.

I live in Illinois. My son will not be attending school where common core is allowed. I will not have him raised to be as corrupt and as immoral as most of the population of Illinois is currently, nor will I have him taught about sex by strangers. Common core is the worst thing I have ever seen out of any education department ever, and that is from someone who was a teacher for over ten years. It allows kids who are lazy to keep up without doing anything, while allowing children who are gifted to be held back and never reach their potential. Until Illinois gets their heads out of their rear ends and realizes that children who are gifted need to be rewarded, not punished because their peers might be self-conscience about the fact that others are smarter than they are, my children will never attend school here. Life is full of competition and teaching these kids that everyone is equal does not teach them how to deal with competition. What are they going to do when they can’t get a job because they can barely read, while kids who are home-schooled are getting jobs left and right? There is no one to cry to when you are an adult and don’t get your way and its a sad fact that Illinois is promoting the bad behavior as well as immoral behavior through this coddling program called common core.

I find it very interesting in the onset of my research into Common Core State Standards how little backlash there is regarding this ill attempt to develop our children to a higher level. Common Core State Standards (CCSS) amounts to nothing more than: Cronyism, Self-Serving Special Interest lobby and even communistic manipulation.

All you have to do is follow the money. I am appalled at what I read in these so-called “Standards”. Be your own judge and get the facts. Read the curriculum for yourself. It’s pornography!

We have an 11-year-old daughter who is coming home every day from school filled with anxiety and a hatred of school. Saying she is “Stupid” and does not understand. She was not like that in the beginning. She used to wake up in the morning and look forward to going to school. What happened? CCSS that is what happened.

Here is a little about my background and why I am so against CCSS. During the 1950’s, I went to an elementary school in Sunnyvale, California where an “experimental” program was instituted to promote “Responsive Thinking”. A local “Think Tank” in Silicon Valley thought this was a good idea and sold it to our elementary school.

Our mathematics program did not teach us our times tables above 5 x 9, because 9 x 9 equals (5 x 9) + (4 x 9) = 81. Beginning Algebra in second grade!!! Which was fine and dandy right? Until you want to multiply 9876 x 87948! Can you imagine? Division was horrific, English was even worse, and I will not go into that here.

When we got to sixth grade, the “powers that be” decided this modern math (New Math) was not working and aborted the program. (Thank you so much for not going back and finishing the basics with us!) Upon graduation from High School I was functionally illiterate, could not read or write, multiply anything above 5 x 9. However, I graduated. $!$!

After high school, I took a job as a security guard. One night while staring at a closed circuit TV screen I concluded my future looked bleak. Therefore, I stopped at a store on the way home and bought Jane Goodall’s book “In the Shadow of Man” and a dictionary. Over the next several months I labored over every word and every sentence in that book repeatedly until I understood, effectively teaching myself to read. As a result, today I read approximately 40-50 words per minute, however, I comprehend and absorb (almost to a photographic level) 98% of what I read. (Here I would like to apologize for any grammar issues or the misuse of words, sorry)

I ascended to an impressive career level and was able to retire at age 50 despite my lack of education. I consider myself as having a Ph.D. from U.H.K. (The University of Hard Knocks) , I can only wonder where I may have ended up had I had a proper start in education.

If you love this country, and more importantly your children, you will SPEAK UP and denounce Common Core State Standards. This is the Elephant in the room, CCSS needs rescinding as soon as possible.

I urge you to write ALL of your representatives and congressional representatives and specifically tell them; YOU “WILL NOT be voting for them in the next election unless they work diligently to get this out of our school system”.
